If you are into numbers, this is an unusual flat-out written article (for a newspaper anyway) that is focused on the 2009 Maui Real Estate Statistics as published by the Maui Board of Realtors. Be sure to read the entire article! At the end it is explained that compared to the national averages, even after the declines, Maui County housing is still very high. The article is citing the National Association of Realtors as the source for it’s finding.

The Maui Board of Realtors is publishing these year-end Sales Reports on an annual basis, every January. Towards the end of last year, the Associated Press released a survey conducted with more then 1,3 million people. The small mention was published in the Maui Weekly and revealed that, in deed, Hawaii is the Second Happiest State in the nation. This note was published right about the same time when the “most trusted travel advice”, the online Trip Advisor, stated that Kihei is one of America’s Best Value Winter Vacation Rental Getaways, putting Kihei in third position after Florida and the Grenadines.
