Does the Grand Wailea Resort really need 300 more rooms on top of the existing nearly 800 rooms?

The Maui Planing Commission seems to believe so: The Maui News from today reports that the panel grants the permit for the hotel expansion. Of course this discussion is far from being over, but since you are like me, trying to keep up with what is going on in South Maui at all times, I recommend reading this article. I for my part, I am sometimes in total disbelieve of what is happening on this beautiful island. Well, I should say with the reasoning that some people present to get certain things done around here. Pretty disappointing!

On days like this, I just want to escape to Hana. Today’s Maui Photo is really a “Lucky Shot”. When my mother visited this past summer, we enjoyed a fabulous afternoon on my favorite Maui Beach: Hamoa Beach in Hana. If you do nothing else when visiting, be sure to spend at least a day at the end of the world. For the rest of her life, my mother will not forget her visit to Hana.

Then, when I am back in South Maui, Wailea Real Estate looks different again. It’s a great life to have work and pleasure so close together that it sometimes is hard to actually “take them apart”, if you know what I mean. Maui No Ka Oi, Maui Is The Best. No question.
