The biggest headline in the Maui News today! A report from the Maui Real Estate board confirms the highest number of Maui condos sold in February of 2013, making this a 5-year height. Of course this statistic includes Wailea condos and Makena condos on the South shore of the island.
You know how that is: once the printed media and the TV simultaneously report about the latest happenings, changes in the Wailea Real Estate and Makena Real Estate market place are well on the way. The total inventory is down by 15% and more in some locations. If you are thinking of selling, contact me!
Today’s Maui photo is from a helicopter flight in South Maui. The low perspective, the ocean and the lava flow, are an awesome vista from nearly every angle.
The Suites At Wailea is the newest of the Wailea condos. The Maui MLS now shows the first closed sale for The Suites At Wailea. The unit number is 6-4. This is the upstairs unit number four in building six. The sales price is noted with $749,000.00.
All units in The Suites At Wailea have a single level floor plan, as well as 1-bedroom with 1-bathroom configurations. While upper units are slightly smaller inside and outside on the lanai, the interior square footage for unit 6-4 is 611 with 107 square feet of covered lanai.
Today’s Maui photo is from the nearest beach just down the hill. It is located in front of the Polo Beach Club, right next to the Fairmont Kea Lani resort.
As a new development, the individual units of The Suites At Wailea have been completely renovated and are no longer recognizable, compared to what is known as the Hotel Wailea. Nevertheless, the street address is the same with 555 Kaukahi Street.
This Wailea condo will appeal to clients who enjoy daily resort services in an upscale and private setting. Eventually, the small community with only 72 units will be enjoying “Club 72″ lifestyle and services standards. This will include a spa and and a so called beach club. Room service will be available through the award winning Capische restaurant.
The good news is that the Grand Wailea Resort will remain under the management contract of Hilton’s luxury Waldorf Astoria brand. We should “feel” not much of a change in regards to the day to day operation of South Maui’s famed resort hotel.
Nevertheless, together with the three other luxury American resorts, a New York bankruptcy judge approved the sale of the Grand Wailea Resort to a Singaporean government investment fund. See this link to the Maui News for further details.
Today’s Maui photo is an aerial of the Grand Wailea Resort. When first arriving on Maui directly from Hamburg in Germany, I worked in this hotel and really enjoyed myself. It was an unforgettable experience and I never wanted to leave Maui again.
Two Wailea Condos are located really close to the hotel. The darker rooflines to the left are those of the Wailea Beach Villas. On the top right, you can see the roof lines of the Hoolei At Wailea condos. Wailea Beach is a fabulous South Maui destination. Aloha from VW.
